CBGB will be available on DVD: and BLU-RAY on December 31, 2013. The cast includes Alan Rickman, Malin Akerman, Justin Bartha, Richard de Klerk, Johnny Galecki, Ashley Greene, Rupert Grint, Taylor Hawkins, Stana Katic, Donal Logue, Joel David Moore, Freddy Rodriguez, Mickey Sumner, Bradley Whitford
Directed by Randall Miller and written by Jody Savin, Randall Miller, CBGB looks at New York’s dynamic punk rock scene through the lens of the ground-breaking Lower East Side club started by eccentric Hilly Kristal in 1973 originally as a home for “country, bluegrass and blues” (thus the club’s name) and which showcased cutting-edge bands through its closing in 2006.
The Talking Heads, Patti Smith, The Ramones, Blondie, The Dead Boys, Bad Brains, Green Day, Soul Asylum, The Police, Bruce Springsteen, Everclear, George Thorogood, The Velvet Underground, Sonic Youth, The Black Crowes, The Flaming Lips, The Goo Goo Dolls, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, The B-52s, The Runaways, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Tool and The Wallflowers are just some of the thousands of bands that played the club over the years.
A glass to the door tells me Anton Yelchin (“Star Trek”) and Ashley Greene (“Twilight”) are headed to Romero-territory for Joe Dante’s newie “Burying the Ex”.
Not surprisingly, considering Dante’s back-catalog (“The Hole 3D”, “Gremlins”, “The Burbs”, “Innerspace”), the movie will encompass a funny but fantastical, and likely sometimes frightening storyline.
Max and Evelyn’s relationship takes a nosedive after they decide to move in together and Evelyn turns out to be a controlling, manipulative nightmare. Max realizes it’s time to call it quits, but there’s just one problem: He’s too afraid to break up with her. Fate steps in when Evelyn is involved in a freak accident and dies, leaving Max single and ready to mingle. Several weeks later, he has a chance encounter with Olivia, a cute and plucky girl who just might be his soul mate. But that same night, Evelyn returns from the grave as a dirtsmeared corpse and she’s determined to get Max back…even if that means turning him into one of the undead.
Yelchin (back in “Fright Night” territory”) and Greene (a regular presence in the tween supernatural flick these days) will be joined by a third, as-yet uncast lead.
Some unfortunate news for our dear Ashley.
She lost her home and a precious pooch when her apartment went up in flames in March, and now, Ashley is being sued by fellow residents of the building.
According to a report from TMZ, the Ashley was named in a lawsuit filed by the West Hollywood building’s doorman, who claims he was injured while alerting residents to the blaze.
The fire began in Greene’s apartment when a candle set the living room on fire, which destroyed her unit and caused smoke and water damage to neighboring ones.
In addition to the doorman, she is being sued by four residents claiming damages to their property from soot and water.

Last Wednesday Ashley attended 2013 Power of Style Luncheon hosted by The Hollywood Reporter and Valentino where she gave a quick interview to THR.
“I’m so impressed that [THR and Valentino] were able to get all these busy, powerful women in one room at the same time,” Greene said, clad in a floral embroidered Valentino dress that she was “obsessed” with. The starlet agreed with THR senior style writer Merle Ginsberg, who penned the magazine’s “Power of Style” piece, that power and style indeed go hand in hand. Style is empowering,” Greene said. “There’s something about clothes that you feel good in that gives you that extra boost of confidence. I really love that there’s a focus on that within our industry now.”
